At New England Baptist Hospital, we strive to keep our patients as informed as possible.
We offer pre-operative classes for those about to undergo hip, knee or spinal surgery, providing comprehensive information on what to expect during surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation.
We also offer our patients and visitors access to the Patient and Family Resource Room in our Woodard Health Sciences Library. The Patient and Family Resource Room contains easy-to-read health educational materials to complement the health education provided by our health care providers. Please note: your providers should always be your primary resource for health education. Information at the Woodard Health Sciences Library should not be construed as personal medical advice.
Patients undergoing arthroplasty joint replacement and spinal surgery benefit from education for both hip and knee replacement surgery and spinal fusion surgery. Classes provide detailed information about how to prepare for surgery, recovery, pain management and what and to expect when you go home.
Booklets and DVDs have been developed by our healthcare professionals. These are reference tools designed to help guide the patient and family throughout one's recovery.
