We will complement your clinical introduction to your new job with new grad support groups. These meetings will include open discussion with new grads from other units, and review basic skills such as organization, setting priorities, and delegation. We will also introduce you to the support services and people available to you as coordinator of your patients' care.
Once you are able to handle a patient care assignment on your own, your preceptor will become your mentor. You and your mentor will keep the same schedule for the next three to six months. Your mentor will be available to you for guidance and support. We will also provide monthly classes for you with clinical content relevant to your new practice. NEBH provides an atmosphere that inspires quality and encourages teamwork. We value clinical excellence as much as personal growth. New Grad RN Program Winter 2010
Thank you for your interest in beginning your nursing career at New England Baptist Hospital and congratulations on completing your degree and obtaining your license! We know that you are eager to begin your new career and are curious about opportunities for New Grads at NEBH.
We are planning to have our next New Grad Program in the winter of 2010 with an anticipated start date in December, 2010, or January, 2011. We will post the position "Registered Nurse - New Grad Program" on our job listing in the "Careers" section of our website (www.nebh.org) in late September and encourage you to apply on line to this position at that time. It is important that you apply specifically and only to the "Registered Nurse - New Grad Program" position when it is posted so that you can be considered for the program.
We feel that it is important that new RNs have a thorough and extensive orientation with dedicated educators, preceptors and resources to ensure success. For this reason, we do not consider new grads or RNs with less than 1 year of acute care experience for any nursing positions other than those offered as part of our New Grad program. In an effort to make our hiring process more efficient, we would ask that new RNs, or RNs with less than 1 year of acute care experience, do not apply for other posted positions.
If you have further questions, please feel free to call 617-754-5227.
